It was always my intention to log each day’s events on my own site, but as time was so tight during the trip, I found I had just enough to upload the images to Facebook, along with a quick blurb.
So, mostly copied from there, here is Day 1:
LEJOG Day 1 – Land’s End – Liskeard. 74.53 miles.
5 Hours 16 mins, Average speed 14.12mph, Max speed 38mph.
So there we have it, day one over. I’m not going to lie, we felt it! First 55 miles, no problem….
Last 20 ouch. Up hill, down hill, up hill, down hill. And not just hills, but HILLS.
On the upside, it’s been so good to get all the likes and messages of support from all of you,
it honestly makes a difference and it’s so good to know we have your support,
so thank you and keep them coming!
As you can imagine we kind of had our work cut out today, but here’s just a few pics
and the Strava file should be along shortly if you’re that way inclined.
Now, I’ve burnt 4600 calories so cut off it’s horns and it’s hooves and bring it to me…
The start. Of course.
St Michael’s Mount
Home for the night
This would become a familiar sight…
